Pottery generally poses less of a problem in deciding what an ancient artefact was used for and from which area and time it comes.

 

Dating nevertheless can sometimes be difficult.

 

I hope to feature articles about stylistic considerations of identifying and dating ancient pottery which is found often very remote from it's iplace of manufacture.

 

I will also be featuring articles on scientific dating methods, thermoluminescence testing, and the limitations of such techniques!
