This marvellous steatite scarab is one of the most finely worked scarabs I've had.

It shows the ureus,with solar disc above and  the Thoth baboon and hawk and as you can see there is extremely fine hatched and other detailing within the cutting.

It is 15mm.

It comes form the same American collection as the very fine "smiting king" scarab here and is still attached to it's original ticket.

It is New kingdom.
