To my eye the many fakes of Egyptian bronzes are as badly done as any of the other categories.

However, as I have been sent pics of quite a few of these purchased on eBay by new collectors, I am showing some of those horrible fakes sold over the last few months.

  • Look at the forms.
  • Compare with the many pieces you can see on museum websites and the websites of good dealers.
  • Look at the colour of the metal and patina.
