A rather nice little Roman silver figurative amulet. Diffcult to be sure who it is meant to respresent but despite the rather masculine face the figure seems to be in female attire and carries what looks like a cornucopia; so it's probably Fortuna/Tyche.

Has a sturdy suspension hoop on the back and so could be worn on a necklace chain.

Some damage a you can see and seems to have been rather roughly cleaned.

28mm.

Roman, 1st - 4th century, but I think earlier rather than later.

From a collection in Belgium.

Price: 575 GBP
